Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do wisdom teeth need to be removed?

Wisdom teeth are removed because they can become impacted, meaning they don’t have enough room to grow in. This can lead to pain, infection, crowding, or damage to nearby teeth. Removing them early can help prevent more serious dental problems down the road.
  • What can I eat after having my wisdom teeth removed?

Stick to soft foods like yogurt, mashed potatoes, smoothies, and scrambled eggs for the first few days. Avoid hot, spicy, crunchy, or chewy foods that could irritate the surgical site. As you heal, you can slowly reintroduce your regular diet.
  • How do I prepare for oral surgery?

Your dentist will give you instructions, such as fasting before anesthesia and arranging a ride home. It’s best to wear comfortable clothing and avoid makeup or jewelry on surgery day. Be sure to share any medications or health conditions with your dentist before your appointment.

So impressed with everyone, especially the technician (sorry, I forgot her name) & Dr. Green. I asked a bunch of questions which were kindly & completely answered. A completely enjoyable experience...will keep coming back. Had another visit today (over 6 months later). Staff went the extra mile to make sure that the panoramic x-rays were covered by my insurance company. The staff are also going to try to get pre-authorization for a needed implant. Very pleased with Dr. Green & all staff. 3-11-24...another visit to discuss an an alternative to an implant. Dr. Green & Michelle were answered all my questions in detail, convinced me that a bridge would be a good choice. They are going to contact my insurance company & get my out of pocket $. Again, very pleased. 6-14-2024...Went in for professional bleaching of my teeth. Gina was very professional, answered all my questions, did a wonderful job on the bleaching. She took before & after photos of my teeth. I'm very, very pleased with how white they look now. I highly recommend Gina's work!!! 6-25-2024...Went in for a tooth extraction & prep for a bridge. Dr. Green & the young lady who assisted him were EXCELLENT! I asked a lot of questions of them both...they kindly took the time to educate me. I'm very pleased with their professionalism and the results of their work. I highly recommend Ben Lomond Dental. 7-2-2024 Had to go back in to check on swelling in my mouth days after the bridge prep work l. Dr. Green quickly determined that the swelling was because of an infection. He gave me a small bottle of antiseptic mouthwash & a prescription for an anti-biotic. I asked questions, got detailed answers. Very pleased with Dr. Green & staff. 7-23-2024 Went back to get bridge prep work finished, Dr. Green was very pleased at how well my gums had healed (so was I). The antibiotic he previously prescribed was very successful in reducing the soft tissue swelling mentioned earlier. They removed the temporary bridge for a little while to make some final adjustments to the two support teeth. I am more than pleased with Dr. Green & his techs...looking forward to permanent bridge placement in two weeks. 8-6-2024... Went back to have permanent bridge installed. It went in really fast, looks GREAT. I am extremely pleased. These professionals really ARE professionals!!!!! 8-22-2024 Went in for teeth cleaning. Forgot that I had already maxed-out my 2024 dental insurance benefits (Humana), so rescheduled for 2025. The staff waived the normal $50 fee for cancelation without 24 hour notice. Very kind & understanding staff...so much appreciate them. 2-26-2025 Had another teeth cleaning. It was done quickly & expertly...very pleased. I asked a bunch of questions, all were well-answered. I continue to be well-pleased with the staff. 10-1-2025 Went in for a crown. Deadening went well, as did all the rest. I was out in about 2 hours. I had a question about implants, which was quickly answered. Highly recommend Ben Lomond staff. 9-09-2026 Another preventive dental visit...X-ray and cleaning. Staff were great as always. Very pleased with them, as well as the fact that no new cavities... ;^)

I’ve had at least 4 different dentists over the last 23 years, Dr. Wade Larson has provided the best dental experience out of all of them—practical, doesn’t push unnecessary procedures, informative, kind and easy to discuss things with, tries to get as much taken care of as he can in as few appointments as possible, and has good tricks for dealing with those of us who aren’t fond of needles. Dr. Larson and his assistants are pretty quick with their procedures, but don’t mistake their efficiency for poor quality work, they’ll take good care of you! I have had cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals and even some minor cosmetic things done—all of which turned out great and with little to no issue.

Had a great experience here. The office was very clean and the hygienist Faith was very knowledgeable about how acid effects enamel and why brushing and flossing a certain way helps protect your teeth. Thanks also to Dr. Larson who was able to explain well what was going on with my son's teeth. Also, Hope in their billing department looked over our insurance and was able to explain exactly what was covered. I thought we would have to pay a whole lot more out of pocket for cavities that my son has and wasn't even going to make another appointment for him. Thanks for taking care of our family's teeth!
